The End of the World

最近在聽 Susan Boyle 的專輯「I Dreamed a Dream」。這位蘇珊大嬸應該已經不用多作介紹，她甚至登上了日本紅白大賽的舞台，已經早就是全球知名的傳奇人物了吧。

她的歌聲還是很好聽，加上選的曲子又好，所以實在沒什麼好值得批評的。我一面聽一面想，如果可以像 Beyonce 一樣又正又辣又會唱又會跳，那當然是最好，但是有一副能打動人的歌喉已經是上天的恩賜了。

前面講到她專輯裡的歌大部份都不錯，但也還沒到「完美」的境界，對我來說啦。對我來說，宗教歌曲可免，「Silent Night」這種耶誕歌曲可免。但是最讓我坐立難安的是「The End of the World」這首歌。

「The End of the World」我最早聽過的版本是原唱 Skeeter Davis 唱的，她簡單的唱法已經是我最習慣的，也習慣她的口白；我很難去說 Skeeter Davis 唱得多有情感、編曲多有學問，總覺得一切加起來就是剛剛好的「The End of the World」。

也許它在我心裡就是太經典了吧，所以別人怎麼感情豐富地去唱、怎麼變化、音色怎麼甜美，就是感覺怪怪的。對我來說，平白直敘的唱法才能表達那種全世界都不再與我有關、心灰意冷到什麼無所謂的感覺。
